I can be patient when I know the length of time I am expected to be patient for. Yeah yeah that is probably not real patience but that is how my mind works.
So if someone tells me to expect to hear the status of our loan by the end of the week, and if that dead line comes and goes... let's just say i go a little crazy.
I managed to make it through the weekend because I knew that the banks don't work on the weekends. Then Monday morning we got an email that the manual underwriter is just now looking at our stuff and would should know by Tuesday or Wednesday. No word. Today the guy emailed us and said he got verbal conformation that we were approved but he did not know the specifics so we would have to wait another day.
Now I know a week after the initial time frame is not that long in the grand scheme, but with something this big it tends to be all you can think about. So it feels like a lot longer. So if all goes well tomorrow we will hear the amount that we are approved for, and are ready to make an offer.
O but wait God is not done working on my patience, our Real Estate agent is going out of the country tomorrow and won't be back until next Friday. So it will be another week before I can tell you about the offer we are making.
In the mean time I am thinking about what color carpet I want in the living room.

sigh. it's soooooo hard to wait. preaching to the choir. remember, you aren't waiting on the agent or the broker or the underwriter. you are waiting on God.
ReplyDeleteOh wow - relate, I can. haha!! Yes, focus on the color carpet, how you want to decorate and organize.... those are things you CAN control. And when all else fails - pester the heck out of them. The squeaky wheel DOES get more attention.
